Delhi Police Raid Two Spa Centres in Kalkaji Over Alleged Illegal Prostitution, 2 Arrested

New Delhi: The Delhi Police raided two spa centres in South Delhi’s Kalkaji area over alleged illegal prostitution being operated under the guise of wellness services, arresting two managers and rescuing 21 women.

The operations were carried out on August 22 following specific intelligence about alleged illegal sex work at the two establishments, both located under the jurisdiction of Kalkaji police station.

Separate police teams were formed to conduct simultaneous decoy operations at the two locations.

Two spa managers arrested

During the raid at the first spa centre, police apprehended and arrested the manager. Officers recovered ₹7,200 in cash from the premises, along with ₹2,000 used as decoy money during the operation.

A case was registered at Kalkaji police station under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act (ITPA).

In a parallel operation at the second spa centre, police arrested the establishment’s manager. Officers seized ₹2,000 in cash from the premises, in addition to ₹2,000 used during the decoy operation.

A separate case was registered under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the ITPA.

21 women rescued during raids

A total of 21 women were rescued from the two establishments during the joint operations.

Police said all the rescued women were sent for mandatory medical examinations. Their official statements are also being recorded as part of the legal procedure.

The two operations resulted in the arrest of two accused persons, the rescue of 21 women and the recovery of ₹9,200 in cash, besides ₹4,000 used as decoy money.

Two separate FIRs have been registered in connection with the cases.

Further investigation and necessary legal proceedings are underway, police said.
