Delhi’s Red Fort Receives Bomb Threat; Security Agencies Launch Search

New Delhi: A bomb threat targeting Delhi’s Red Fort was found to be a hoax after Delhi Police conducted a preliminary investigation on Saturday. The threat call was initially received at the Mumbai Police Control Room and was immediately shared with the Delhi Police Control Room, following which the North District Police verified the information and found no credible threat.

According to police, the threat was received through the emergency response system, prompting a swift response from the Delhi Police, bomb disposal squad, dog squad and the fire department. Multiple teams rushed to the UNESCO World Heritage Site and carried out an extensive search of the premises.

    No Explosives Found During Search

Officials said the Red Fort complex was thoroughly searched, but no suspicious object or explosive material was found during the operation. The threat is suspected to be a hoax, though authorities have not ruled out any possibility and are continuing their investigation.

Police are working to trace the source of the threat and have initiated legal action. Security around the monument has been heightened as a precaution.

    Investigation Underway

Authorities said cyber experts are examining the origin of the threat, while CCTV footage from the area is also being reviewed as part of the investigation. Officials have appealed to the public not to spread rumours or unverified information related to the incident.

The Red Fort, one of Delhi’s most prominent heritage monuments and a major tourist attraction, remains under enhanced security as the probe continues.
