Delhi Police issues traffic advisory ahead of 5-day AI Impact Summit

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has released a detailed traffic advisory ahead of the upcoming AI Impact Summit scheduled to be held in the national capital from February 16 to February 20.

The five-day international event will take place at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan and is expected to attract global attention, with participation from heads of state, ministers, senior delegates and leaders of major international organisations.

Regulated Traffic Movement in New Delhi District

Authorities anticipate regulated traffic movement in and around the venue, particularly in the New Delhi district and adjoining areas.

According to the advisory, comprehensive arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth and hassle-free movement of vehicles while maintaining public safety and convenience during the summit period.

Restricted Roads During VVIP Movements

Certain stretches have been identified as restricted zones during VVIP route movements. These include:

• Bhairon Marg (excluding Ring Road T-Point)

• Mathura Road from Subramania Bharti Marg T-Point to Dr Dinesh Nandini Dalmia Chowk

General vehicular entry will not be permitted on these routes during designated movement times.

Vehicles not destined for Delhi will be diverted to the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways and other alternate routes. Such vehicles will not be allowed to enter the capital during the summit.

Essential Services to Get Priority Passage

The police have clarified that essential services, including medical emergency vehicles, will be given uninterrupted and priority access.

Passengers travelling to airports and railway stations will be facilitated, though commuters have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow extra travel time due to possible diversions.

Motorists are also encouraged to use Delhi Metro services, especially when heading towards airport terminals, to avoid congestion.

Additionally, buses may be diverted during VVIP movements to ensure security and efficient traffic management.

Delhi Police has urged residents and visitors to cooperate with authorities, follow traffic advisories and plan their travel schedules carefully to minimise inconvenience during the high-profile AI Impact Summit.
