    Delhi Traffic Advisory: 30 Routes to Avoid Amid CJP Protest, Metro Stations Shut

    New Delhi: Delhi has stepped up security ahead of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protest at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, October 10, with police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel deployed across the national capital. The protest is linked to demands concerning Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.

    Amid the security arrangements, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory listing 30 roads and junctions where traffic restrictions or diversions may be imposed. Commuters have been advised to avoid non-essential travel through the affected areas and keep extra time for journeys to railway stations, the airport and inter-state bus terminals (ISBTs).

    The traffic police said the arrangements would remain dynamic and could be adjusted according to real-time assessments of the situation.

    “Diversions will be enforced starting from 06:00 AM on 10.10.2026 depending upon prevailing situation,” the Delhi Traffic Police said in a post on X.

    The following roads and junctions have been identified in the traffic advisory for possible restrictions or diversions:

    Metro Stations Shut, Rail Services May Be Affected

    Metro services and railway operations have also faced disruption amid the protest-related security arrangements. According to reports, 45 metro stations have been shut, while several trains scheduled to arrive at Delhi railway stations between 2 pm and 4 pm on Saturday were reportedly cancelled.

    Internet services have also reportedly been suspended in parts of Central Delhi. Commuters are advised to check official updates from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation and railway authorities before beginning their journeys.

    Delhi Police Says CJP Has No Permission for Protest

    Delhi Police has written to the CJP, stating that permission had not been granted for the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar. The police also appealed to the organisation’s leaders to cooperate with authorities and help maintain law and order.

    The security deployment and traffic restrictions are aimed at managing the situation around the proposed demonstration. Commuters have been urged to follow police instructions and allow additional time for travel through affected parts of the capital.
