Deportation of illegal Indian migrants continues

It is being said that the US has changed its approach towards India after reaching a trade agreement with China. It is hoped that the next round of trade negotiations may result in an agreement that reduces the tariff pressure (25+25) from 50 percent to 15 or 20 percent. Trump calls Modi his dear friend, but the manner in which illegal Indian immigrants are being deported from the US and sent back to India reveals a dismissive attitude of the US towards India. The US has recently deported 49 young men from Haryana to India in handcuffs.

The deported young men claim that another flight is arriving on November 3rd. US security agencies described this as their official response and handed them over to Indian immigration officials. Haryana police were present at the airport and, after completing the paperwork, sent the young men to their home districts. It is being said that among these deported youth, one is Lakha, an active member of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.

He has been extorting money from businessmen in Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan, as well as in the US, since 2022. Indians wonder what kind of friend America is, where Khalistanis like Gurpatwant Singh Pannu safely carry out their campaigns against India’s integrity. Now, it has come to light that extortion networks are being run not only from Canada but also from the US. The 49 young men who landed at the airport were in a very miserable condition. They had reached the US via the Donkey Route and were humiliatingly returned to India. The deported youth explained that the journey via the Donkey Route is not easy.

They are first taken from Delhi to Brazil, where agents, with the help of local gangs, then from Brazil to Colombia, then to Panama, and from there, they have to walk continuously for 6 to 15 days through the forests of the Darien Gap, known as the Forest of Death. Along the way, they face heavy rain, mud, snakes, scorpions, and swamps.

If someone collapses from exhaustion, they are abandoned. Those who take the Donkey Route extort money at every stage. Panama costs 300,000 to 500,000 rupees, Guatemala 500,000 to 700,000 rupees, the Mexican border 600,000 to 100,000 rupees, and the US border 200,000 to 400,000 rupees. Thus, a person traveling the Donkey Route spends 500,000 to 700,000 rupees. What’s the point of such a journey if these people return humiliated? Young people and their parents dare to sell their possessions and go abroad. They feel they have no future in their own country. But what future do they have, even if they go to America?

Look at this illegal entry; it brought them back humiliated. America’s policy remains as strict, and the youth’s restlessness remains unabated. Wouldn’t it be better if our youth found a future in their own country instead of chasing the lollipops of such countries? Of course, the country’s leaders must take responsibility for this. The state of the country’s youth is such that they have no interest in education; perseverance and book culture have died. Their only desire is to somehow move to the dollar zone and earn the fortune of becoming millionaires. But given America’s policies, how will the country handle the young people coming to India with shattered dreams? This is a significant question.
