Developed India has now become a people’s aspiration’: PM Modi

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said the resolve to build a developed India by 2047 is no longer just a government policy, but a true aspiration of the people.

Policies and infrastructure focused on the 2047 target

During an interaction with economists and experts at NITI Aayog, PM Modi said that changes in education, consumption, and global mobility demonstrate that India’s aspirations are rapidly rising. Therefore, it is essential to further strengthen institutional capacity and infrastructure expansion.

He stressed the need for mission mode reforms in various sectors to maintain long-term growth momentum.

He said, “The vision of the year 2047 should be the foundation of policymaking and the budget.” He also stressed the need to maintain India as a major hub for global markets and workforces.

The dialogue was held on the theme “Self-Reliance and Structural Transformation: A Developed India Agenda.”

AI, Digital Public Infrastructure, and Savings

Experts at the meeting offered suggestions to enhance productivity and competitiveness in the manufacturing and services sectors. Key points included:

Increasing domestic savings
Robust infrastructure investment
Expansion of cutting-edge technology and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
Further expanding Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI)

Economists said that the comprehensive reforms undertaken in 2025 and their continued strengthening in the coming years will keep India among the world’s fastest-growing economies.
