Jalandhar: To alleviate traffic congestion at PAP Chowk and facilitate travel from Jalandhar to Amritsar, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal on Thursday instructed NHAI and PWD officials to expedite the work of constructing an additional attachment at PAP chowk. He considered this initiative crucial for addressing traffic challenges in Jalandhar city, and directed the project director of NHAI and PWD officials to personally oversee the project to ensure prompt start and completion.
Furthermore, Dr. Aggarwal has emphasized the need to submit proposals for the removal of electricity poles and wires along the PAP service lane, as the project hinges on these reports. In line with the commissioner’s guidance, NHAI and civil officials have conducted an on-site assessment at PAP Chowk to identify and address ground-level issues for the project.
Additionally, Deputy Commissioner Aggarwal has also highlighted the potential for developing sports parks under the bridges to promote sports activities. He has directed the PWD and sports department to submit a report on the feasibility of this idea, citing its potential to not only encourage youth participation in sports but also to ensure the cleanliness of areas under the bridges.
