DGP Gaurav Yadav: Punjab Police Bust Pakistan-ISI Linked Khalistan Terror Module in Tarn Taran

Chandigarh: Punjab Police has dealt a major blow to a deep-rooted terror conspiracy linked to Pakistan’s ISI and pro-Khalistan elements by recovering a huge cache of arms, explosives, and communication equipment from Village Panjwarh Khurd in Tarn Taran district.

Director General of Police, Punjab, Gaurav Yadav said the recovery was made during the ongoing investigation into the attempted IED blast on the railway track at Shambhu in Patiala district on April 27, 2026.

In a joint operation by Patiala Police and SSOC Amritsar, police recovered one Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) launcher, one metallic IED weighing 2.296 kg with detonators and battery, two packs of RDX weighing 1.456 kg, one hand grenade, three high-end pistols with magazines and ammunition, and two wireless sets with headphones.

Investigations revealed that the terror module was backed by a Malaysia-based entity, with financial support being routed through Malaysia. Police are also probing the module’s links to the Sirhind railway track blast and the grenade attack on CIA Moga.

DGP Gaurav Yadav said Punjab Police remains committed to dismantling terror ecosystems, breaking organised crime-terror networks, and ensuring lasting peace, public safety, and security across the state.
