Chandigarh: Preparations are underway to establish a new police station in Dhanas, Chandigarh. In view of the area’s growing population and the need to strengthen policing, the Chandigarh Administration has started looking for a suitable site for the proposed police station.
Along with this, there is also a proposal to construct an 80-bed hospital in Dhanas.
Home-cum-Health Secretary Mandip Singh Brar visited Dhanas on Wednesday evening to inspect the proposed sites for both projects. During the visit, he held discussions with officials regarding the land requirements for the police station and the hospital. Land will be earmarked according to the specific requirements of both projects.

Special Focus on Need for New Police Station
The population of Dhanas has increased in recent times, creating a need to strengthen the local policing system. Keeping this in view, the administration inspected a site for establishing a new police station.
Once the new police station is constructed, police presence in Dhanas and the surrounding areas is expected to increase. It will also help strengthen law and order arrangements in the area.
Residents to Get Easier Access to Police Services
The proposed police station will make it easier for residents to lodge complaints, seek assistance and access other police services without having to travel long distances.
It will also help in maintaining law and order and enable a quicker police response to incidents in Dhanas and nearby areas.
