The pension of a former MLA stops as soon as he gets a government post.

The pension of a former MLA starts as soon as the term of the MLA is over. If a former MLA is nominated to any government post or becomes a minister, then the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat is informed about it in a prescribed format. After this, the pension stops.

After completion of tenure from a government post, one has to apply in the prescribed format and inform the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat. After this, the pension starts again. Jagdeep Dhankhar has also applied under the same process.

Dhankhar will get pension of former Vice President, former MP, former MLA

Jagdeep Dhankhar will get three types of pension (former Vice President, former MP, former MLA). Former Governor does not get pension. Therefore, Dhankhar will also not get pension as a former Governor.

Former MLA gets pension of 35 thousand rupees

Former MLA gets pension of 35 thousand rupees per month. Pension keeps on increasing with each term. After five years, the person who has been MLA for each term after five years gets additional pension by adding 1600 rupees per month for each term after five years.

A one-time MLA gets a pension of Rs 35,000, a two-time MLA gets Rs 42,000 and a three-time MLA gets Rs 50,000. If the former MLA has crossed the age of 70, the pension increases by 20 percent.

Dhankhar will get a pension of Rs 42,000 as a former MLA.

Dhankhar has been an MLA once. His age is 75 years. In such a situation, he will get 20 percent more pension. He will get pension by adding 20 percent to Rs 35,000 per month. This pension is Rs 42,000.

Dhankhar will get around 2.73 lakhs every month in three pensions.

Dhankhar will get a pension of around 2 lakh rupees per month as a former Vice President. He will get a pension of 42 thousand rupees as a former MLA and 31 thousand rupees as a former MP every month. In this way, by combining all three pensions, he will get 2 lakh 73 thousand rupees every month.
