Disha Salian’s Father to Submit ‘Evidence’ to CBI, Seeks Swift Action in Death Case

Mumbai: Disha Salian’s father Satish Salian, accompanied by his lawyer Nilesh Ojha, is set to submit a pen drive containing what they describe as evidence related to her death to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in Mumbai on Thursday.

The material, according to Ojha, includes video recordings, witness accounts, photographs, phone conversations and other digital evidence. The lawyer said the family wants the CBI to examine the material and take action against those found responsible.

The development comes as the CBI investigates the 2020 death of Disha Salian after the Bombay High Court directed the agency to conduct a probe. The CBI subsequently registered an FIR in the case. However, allegations made by Salian’s family and their lawyer remain subject to investigation.

Lawyer Claims Witness Videos and Digital Evidence Submitted

Speaking to ANI, Nilesh Ojha claimed that the pen drive contains recordings of witnesses who, according to him, can provide information about the circumstances surrounding Salian’s death.

Ojha claimed that one video recording contains an eyewitness account describing what allegedly happened and how Salian’s body was found. He also referred to a person identified as Naved and alleged that his account recorded by police contains details about the scene.

Ojha further claimed that discrepancies in accounts concerning Salian’s clothing and other details have been brought to the CBI’s attention.

He said the material also includes digital evidence such as mobile-tower location data, which he argued could help investigators establish the movements and locations of people relevant to the case.

Family Seeks Immediate Action From CBI

Ojha said the family expects the CBI to act promptly after receiving the material and called for those named in the complaint to be arrested if the investigation establishes their involvement.

Satish Salian also said the material being submitted includes videos, photographs, discussions and phone conversations. He named several people in connection with the allegations made by the family.

These allegations have not been established by a court, and the investigation is ongoing.

The Bombay High Court, while ordering the CBI probe earlier this month, directed that no person should be treated as an accused unless sufficient material is gathered against them during the investigation.

Aaditya Thackeray’s Lawyer Rejects Allegations

The development comes amid a separate legal dispute between Satish Salian and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray over a Rs 500-crore defamation notice.

Thackeray’s legal counsel, Advocate Anshuman Sinha, has rejected the allegations and said there is no evidence supporting the claims against his client.

Sinha said Thackeray’s position remains that he did not know or meet Disha Salian and argued that the matter should be left to the ongoing investigation.

Thackeray has also rejected the Rs 500-crore defamation demand, according to his legal response. The dispute follows remarks and allegations surrounding the renewed investigation into Disha Salian’s death.

CBI Probe Into Disha Salian Death Case

Disha Salian, who worked as a celebrity manager and was associated with actor Sushant Singh Rajput, died in Mumbai in June 2020.

Her father later approached the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh investigation into the circumstances of her death. The High Court directed the CBI to take up the investigation and record Satish Salian’s statement. The agency subsequently registered an FIR containing allegations requiring investigation.

The CBI investigation is now examining the allegations, available evidence and statements of people connected with the case. No allegation mentioned in the family’s claims should be treated as established unless confirmed through the investigation or judicial proceedings.
