DM Randhawa Suicide Case: Family Upset With Police Investigation, Announces Move to High Court

The family of Gagandeep Singh Randhawa, the Warehouse DM who committed suicide in Amritsar, held an important press conference today, reiterating their demand for justice. The family alleged that despite 35 days having passed since the incident, no concrete steps have been taken toward justice. The deceased’s wife, Upinder Kaur, stated that they will now approach the High Court.

Family Says Arresting Just One Accused Is Not Enough

The family alleges that the police have tried to limit the case by arresting only one accused, while several other accused are still at large. They questioned the impartiality of the police investigation, saying that the entire investigation process appears biased and the truth is not being revealed.

During the press conference, Upinder Kaur, the deceased’s wife, said, “We want justice.” She said she was forced to appear before the media again because no concrete action has been taken even after so many days.

Accusing the government of failing to fulfill its promises

She accused the government of failing to fulfill its promises and said that they had previously been assured of justice, but so far only talks have taken place.

Upinder Kaur also said that several political leaders had visited the family and promised help, but now only one or two are discussing the issue. She clarified that she has no affiliation with any political party and her only demand is justice.

Demand for CBI investigation, now a fight in the High Court

Upinder Kaur said she does not trust the police because all the accused have not been arrested yet.

The family has demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation investigate the case. They say that until all the accused are arrested and a fair investigation is conducted, they will continue their fight and will now approach the High Court in this matter.
