April 21, 2026

Two brothers were killed in a mutual dispute in Rampura, located in the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident stemmed from a dispute over crop distribution, during which the middle brother shot and killed his elder brother using a country-made pistol.

The father and the youngest brother, who were present at the scene, then beat the middle brother to death. Other individuals who arrived to intervene stood by in terror, yet no one dared to step in and stop the violence. The Circle Officer (CO), accompanied by the police force, arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation.

Jai Narayan Chaturvedi (70), a resident of Mirzapur Jagir within the Rampura police station jurisdiction, had three sons. All of them lived in separate locations and managed their respective agricultural activities independently.

The eldest son, Kailash (43), lived in Mirzapur village. The second son, Jitendra—alias ‘Allu’ (33)—lived in Rampura, while the youngest son, Guddu (26), resides in Angdela Madaiyan. A dispute regarding the distribution of crops had been brewing among them for the past two days. Villagers reported that the second son, Jitendra (Allu), had been voicing his dissent as he was dissatisfied with the proposed distribution.

On Monday evening, the wheat harvest was scheduled to take place in the fields. All the family members gathered at the site. Jitendra also arrived and began arguing with both of his brothers. When the eldest son, Kailash, objected to his behavior, Jitendra (Allu) shot him with a country-made pistol. Kailash died on the spot as a result of the gunshot wound.

Upon witnessing this horrific scene, the youngest brother and the father lost their composure; they proceeded to beat Jitendra to death using sticks and clubs. CO Ambuj Yadav confirmed that two brothers have lost their lives in the incident and stated that an investigation is currently underway.
