Drug Awareness Rally in Theog; women, children, and elderly participated

An awareness rally against the growing menace of chitta (heroin) has begun in Theog, Shimla district, Himachal Pradesh. A large number of people are participating. Following the call of the “Yuva Jagrook Manch,” some people from Shimla, Mandi, and Kullu districts have also joined the rally. The rally aims to raise awareness among young people, especially about the ill effects of chitta, and to unite society against this evil.

During this rally, people are carrying placards and banners with slogans written on them and are taking part in the awareness rally in Theog market. The rally will proceed from Theog’s Rajiv Gandhi (Potato Ground) playground, through Shali Bazaar, to the SDM office.

Yuva Jagrook Manch officials Arun Chandel and Rohit stated that a memorandum will ultimately be submitted to the SDM, demanding strict action against those involved in chitta smuggling and amendments to the existing law.

The campaign also received support from the Theog Chamber of Commerce. The Chamber of Commerce closed the market until 11 a.m. today in support of the rally. Trade Board President Ajay Thakur stated that this is a wonderful initiative by the Yuva Jagrook Manch. Therefore, the Trade Board has expressed its support by closing shops for two hours today.

Women’s and Youth’s Clubs and Social Organizations Participate

Dozens of women’s clubs, youth clubs, and various social organizations in the area have participated in this awareness campaign. Local folk singers, social media influencers, and social organizations have also appealed to the public to participate enthusiastically in the rally.

Many young people in Theog have lost their lives due to drug abuse.

For the past two weeks, officials of the Yuva Jagrook Manch have been visiting villages, homes, offices, and establishments, urging people to join the awareness rally and encouraging them to join the campaign. The forum members say that many young people in the Theog area have lost their lives due to drug abuse, while many are in jail for drug-related cases. In such circumstances, it is crucial for every section of society to come forward.
