Damtal police arrests two individuals, recovered heroin

The accused are Bharat, also known as Tamma, and his younger brother Khanna. Police conducted a raid on their residential house in the village of Chhanni, located in Tehsil Indora, District Kangra, where they recovered 91.4 grams of.

Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh): The police station in Damtal has arrested two individuals for heroin smuggling in Dharamshala. The accused are Bharat, also known as Tamma, and his younger brother Khanna.

Police conducted a raid on their residential house in the village of Chhanni, located in Tehsil Indora, District Kangra, where they recovered 91.4 grams of heroin and ₹38,000.

Both Bharat and Khanna have been charged under Sections 21 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. They are considered dangerous and habitual criminals, with several other cases already registered against them.

In fact, four separate cases under the NDPS Act have been filed against them in Kangra district. An FIR was lodged against Bharat at Indora police station on September 28, 2018, under Section 21 of the NDPS Act, as well as under the Motor Vehicles Act (MV Act) Section 181 and 196, which involved the recovery of 6.69 grams of heroin.

Another FIR was filed on March 7, 2020, at Pathankot police station under Section 21 of the NDPS Act. Khanna also has an FIR against him under Section 21 of the NDPS Act, with 9.56 grams of heroin recovered by the Damtal police.

Additionally, on March 24, 2018, another FIR, numbered under Sections 20 and 21 of the NDPS Act, was filed in Indora, involving the recovery of 5.44 grams of heroin.
