Ludhiana:  The team of anti-narcotic cell arrested a Jalandhar based drug peddler and recovered 3kg opium from his possession. The police also seized a Maruti Baleno car which the accused was driving. The accused has been identified as Mankirat Singh of village Sarih of Jalandhar district. The police arrested the accused near village Jhande cut.

Head Constable Major Singh will be produced in the court tomorrow. The accused will be interrogated during the remand.

Property worth 23 lakh 50 thousand attached, bought house by selling drugs.

CP Ranjit Singh Dhillon said that the accused Gurmej Singh was in direct contact with a Pakistan-based drug smuggler.

50 grams of heroin were recovered from his possession.

The accused has studied till the 12th, started running on seeing the police, and drugs recovered. 

They were smuggling in Scorpio and Swift cars; one smuggler fled, leaving the car.

Mohali (Punjab): A Mohali court has sentenced Jagdish Singh Bhola, a former Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and kingpin of a major drug racket, to 10 years in prison in a high-profile money laundering case. The court also imposed a fine of ₹50,000 on Bhola, with the stipulation that failure to pay the fine could.

Drug money worth Rs 6 lakh was recovered; the business of bringing poppy from Rajasthan and selling it in Punjab, many FIRs registered earlier too. 

Rs 2 lakh drug money was seized; both were travelling on an Activa without a number plate.
