Mohali STF has arrested a Punjab police constable and his female associate with half a kilo of heroin. The arrested constable was posted in the police line of Faridkot district. According to the information, the said policeman was reinstated some time ago and posted in the Faridkot Police Line.
The name of the arrested accused is Gurpreet Singh and the name of the woman is Navkiran Kaur. It is also being said that one more accused is yet to be arrested in this case. Punjab police officials said that both were involved in drugs smuggling and they have received a confidential information about the both.
The police had laid a trap and set up a blockade to catch them both red-handed. Police officials said that the previous record of the constable was also tainted. Department recently revoked him and after long suspension and he joined duty police line in Faridkot. Police officials said that the accused constable Gurpreet Singh and Navkiran Kaur will be produced before the court and get the police remand.
