Gurdaspur: BSF and Punjab police Special Task Foce (STF) had apprehended two smugglers from Gurdaspur village Agwan and village Rasulpur during search operation yesterday. BSF and STF had recovered 01 packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 540 grams), 01 Pistol alongwith 01 magazine & 05 live rounds form both the smugglers.
During interrogation, both the smugglers have also revealed about another consignment of heroin which was hidden in the fields. BSF officials said that on the information given by the arrested accused, a consignment of 540 grams of heroin has been recovered from sugarcane fields in village Chauntra of Gurdaspur. The consignment of heroin was hidden in sugarcane fields wrapped in adhesive tape.
BSF officials said that the search operation in the border area of Gurdaspur was jointly conducted by BSF and STF of Punjab Police. They said that many more revelations are expected from the arrested smugglers.
