Haryana Police arrests drug smuggler with 47 kg of Cannabis in Rohtak

They were smuggling in Scorpio and Swift cars; one smuggler fled, leaving the car.

Rohtak: In Rohtak, Haryana, the police have arrested a smuggler with drugs worth lakhs of rupees. 47 kg and 200 grams of Cannabis were found in his car. At the same time, his other partner managed to escape from the spot. A case was registered against both of them in Lakhanmajra police station, and an investigation started.

ASI Anil Kumar said that the police received information that Yogesh, a resident of village Saiman in Rohtak, and Ritu, a resident of village Chainat in Hisar, would go towards village Ridhana Dhanana with cannabis in their respective cars. As soon as the information was received, the police team blocked the road near the village of Nandal. After some time, both came in their respective cars.

The police team tried to stop both of them. During this, the youth riding the Scorpio was arrested from the spot, while the Swift car went into the ditch, and the accused left the car and fled, taking advantage of the darkness.

The arrested Scorpio car rider has been identified as Ritu, a resident of the village Chainat in Hisar. Gazetted officer DSP Ravi Khundiya was called on the spot. The accused’s vehicles were checked in front of him. When the Scorpio car was checked, two white plastic bags were found in it. When the bags were checked, cannabis was found in them.

When these bags were weighed, they were found to be 47 kg, 200 grams. 24 kg 570 grams of ganja were found in one bag, and 22 kg 630 grams of cannabis were found in the other bag. Its market price is said to be 5 lakh rupees. The police is investigating the matter.
