Crackdown against Narcotics: Drugs seized in 120 Cases destroyed by Amritsar Police

In a major crackdown against narcotics, the Amritsar Commissionerate Police destroyed drugs seized across a total of 120 cases. This operation was carried out in accordance with legal protocols at the Khanna Paper Mill in Amritsar, where the narcotics were incinerated in a specially constructed furnace.

Drugs destroyed by Amritsar Police 

The drugs destroyed by the police included 2.449 kg of heroin, 5.037 kg of narcotic powder, 8,443 narcotic tablets, 17,640 narcotic capsules, and 1,652 narcotic injections.

Additionally, 6.050 kg of bhukki (poppy husk), 1.275 kg of smack, and 150 grams of charas were also recovered and subsequently destroyed by the police.

DCP Ravinderpal Singh Sandhu stated that this operation was conducted to deal a severe blow to the drug trade. Officials clarified that all these narcotics had been seized in various separate cases and were destroyed following authorisation from the court.

The Commissionerate Police affirmed that the campaign against narcotics will continue unabated, and drug traffickers will not be spared under any circumstances. Such actions will not only intensify pressure on the drug mafia but also serve as a message to the youth to stay away from drugs.

Appeal for Public Cooperation

The police have also appealed to the general public to cooperate in this battle against narcotics and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the police, so that society may be made drug-free.
