Drunk car driver hits bike riding couple in Samrala; Woman dies, husband critical

A drunk driver hit a motorcyclist on Khanna Road in Samrala. In this incident, the woman riding the bike died on the spot, while her husband is said to be in critical condition. According to information, the accident took place near the village of Kullewal.

In the action taken by the police after the accident, the police have also recovered 5.15 grams of heroin from the car driver. According to information received, Nirmal Singh and his wife, Balwinder Kaur, were returning to their village, Gehlewal after taking medicine from Khanna Hospital when a car driver going from Samrala near Gugga Maidi in Kullewal village went in the opposite direction and hit the motorcycle.

In the accident, Balwinder Kaur, 55 died on the spot. At the same time, her husband, Nirmal Singh, was brought to the Civil Hospital of Samrala in critical condition, where after giving him first aid, he was referred to Chandigarh as his condition was critical.

Heroin recovered from Car 

In this regard, local SHO Inspector Harvinder Singh said that the car driver has been identified as Pramod Kumar, a resident of Samrala. He said that a case has been registered against the said youth after 5.15 grams of heroin were also recovered from him, and further action has been initiated.
