Dwarka South Tragedy: 23-Year-Old Sahil Dhaneshra Killed in Accident Involving Minor Driver

A tragic road accident near Lal Bahadur Shastri College claimed the life of 23-year-old Sahil Dhaneshra earlier this month. The collision involved a Scorpio SUV allegedly driven by a 17-year-old and a parked taxi.

Minor Driver Allegedly Behind Wheel Without License

Police revealed that the juvenile was driving without a valid licence and had 13 pending challans, mostly for over-speeding, many registered in Uttar Pradesh. Following the accident, the minor was sent to an observation home and later granted interim bail on February 10 by the Juvenile Justice Board to appear for Class 10 board examinations.

Sequence of the Accident

The accident occurred around 11:57 a.m. on February 3. Authorities reported that the Scorpio first struck Sahil’s motorcycle coming from the opposite direction before crashing into a parked Dzire taxi. The taxi driver, Ajit Singh, sustained injuries and was admitted to IGI Hospital.

Police seized all three vehicles, conducted mechanical inspections, verified documents, and collected CCTV footage from the scene as part of the ongoing investigation.

Mother’s Emotional Appeal

Sahil’s mother, Ina Makan, made an emotional appeal on social media for justice. She described arriving at the scene to find her son lying on the road in critical condition. Despite the presence of an ambulance, Sahil could not be saved.

Police Investigation Ongoing

DCP Dwarka, Ankit Singh, stated that the investigation continues to determine the full circumstances of the accident and ensure accountability for all parties involved.

Authorities are reviewing all evidence, including CCTV footage and vehicle inspections, to reconstruct the incident and take appropriate legal action.
