Massive Fire Guts E-Bike Showroom, 26 Scooters Destroyed

A massive fire broke out at an e-bike showroom near Karni Mata Mandir on Hanumangarh Bypass Road in Suratgarh town on Tuesday, causing a loss of lakhs of rupees. In this arson, 26 scooties were burnt. These include 17 new, 9 old scooties.

The fire spread so fast that within a short time, e-scooters, batteries, spare parts and other items parked in the showroom were engulfed by it. On receiving the information, the fire brigade team of the municipality reached the spot and after about 1 hour of hard work, the fire was controlled. Preliminary investigation is believed to be a short circuit as the cause of the fire.

According to the information, at around 9 am, neighbor shopkeeper Anil Munjal came to open his transport company. During this, he saw smoke coming out from under the shutter of Verma Electric Motors. He immediately informed the shop owner Mahendra Kumar Verma. As soon as the information was received, Mahendra Kumar along with his sons Praveen Kumar and Rajkumar reached the spot. As soon as the shutter was opened, e-bikes and other items parked inside were burning. The municipal fire brigade was immediately informed.

Firemen Rajendra Chauhan, Surendra Kadwasra and Rajendra Gill of the fire brigade reached the information and took charge of extinguishing the fire. The fire was brought under control after about an hour’s effort, but by then most of the goods in the showroom were burnt. The showroom owners have informed the police and administration about the incident. The police and the concerned department are investigating the matter.

Showroom operator Praveen Kumar Verma said that 17 new e-scooters kept for sale were completely destroyed in the fire. At the same time, 9 old scooties that came for repair and servicing were also burnt.

Apart from this, 6 wall fans, a laptop, Wi-Fi router, entire stock of spare parts kept in the shop, repairing machinery, batteries, fall ceiling, counters and furniture were also caught in the fire.
