EAM Jaishankar wishes Nepal on National Day, expresses commitment to further deepen ties

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister (EAM) S. Jaishankar on Friday extended greetings to the people of Nepal on their National Day.

In a post on X, he wrote, “Best wishes to the Government and people of Nepal on their National Day. Committed to further deepening of our multifaceted partnership.”

PM Modi’s Telephonic Conversation with Nepal PM
A day earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Nepal’s interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki, conveying warm greetings on the occasion and reaffirming India’s support for her government’s efforts to restore peace and stability in the Himalayan nation.

MEA’s Assurances of Support
Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated India’s commitment during a weekly briefing, emphasizing that as a “development partner, fellow democracy, and close neighbour,” India stands by Nepal in its journey towards peace, stability, and prosperity.

Commitment to Stronger Ties
Earlier this month, India welcomed the formation of Nepal’s interim government and congratulated Prime Minister Karki on assuming office. Both sides have reaffirmed their intention to further strengthen bilateral ties across sectors and ensure progress for the peoples of both countries.
