Haryana: 2.8 Magnitude Earthquake in Rewari, Tremors Felt in Gurugram and Nearby Areas

Rewari: Earthquake tremors were felt in several districts of Haryana this morning. In Gurugram and Rewari, people reported seeing fans shaking in their homes, prompting them to come out. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the epicenter of the earthquake was in Rewari.

The earthquake had a magnitude of 2.8. The epicentre was five kilometres underground. The tremor was felt at 7:1 a.m.

Tremors were recorded in Gohana in January

Previously, in January 2026, an earthquake was felt in the Gohana area. Its magnitude was measured at 3.4 on the Richter scale. The National Seismology Center stated that the epicenter was Bhainswal Kalan village near Gohana, with a depth of 5 km.

The previous earthquake struck Jhajjar, Haryana, on December 21, 2025. The tremor was felt at 12:13 pm. According to the National Center for Seismology, the quake measured 3.3 on the Richter scale. The epicenter was in Jhajjar, and its depth was estimated at approximately 10 kilometers.
