ED Raids Real Estate Businessman Parveen Kansal in Chandigarh at 7 AM Over Alleged Land Fraud Case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted a raid at 7 a.m. today in Sector-20, Chandigarh. This raid is being carried out at the residence of real estate businessman Praveen Kansal. He is accused of committing fraud related to land in New Chandigarh.

Praveen Kansal, also known as Rocky, has a project in Zirakpur under the name Chandigarh Royal City. He is considered close to former Akali Dal minister Sikander Singh Maluka. It was Praveen’s partner who filed a case against him.

Complaint given to vigilance in 2023: Praveen Kansal is the director of Motia Royal Estate Private Limited. Indu Kansal and Neeraj Kansal are also partners with him. In 2023, one of their partners, Pyare Lal Garg, had given a complaint to vigilance.
Ownership of land changed by deceit: The complaint stated that they had jointly purchased land in a prime location in New Chandigarh. The ownership of the land was fraudulently changed, and Praveen Kansal and his partners illegally got it in their name.

Case registered in the Vigilance Bureau: The Vigilance Bureau (VB) registered a case under Section 420 (fraud) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code on the complaint of Consul’s partner Pyare Lal Garg.
Case reopened in 2025: Vigilance, in its investigation, confirmed this fraud. However, no action was taken at that time. After the report of the revenue officials, the case was reopened, following which an FIR was registered in June 2025.
