ED raids at AAP MP Ashok Mittal’s premises conclude, teams return after 24 hours of investigation

New Delhi: The ED’s raids at several locations of Ashok Mittal, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab and Chancellor of Lovely Professional University (LPU), have concluded.

The raids began around 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday at nine locations in Jalandhar, Phagwara, and Gurugram, including his home, Lovely Sweets, Lovely Auto, and the LPU campus.

At around 8:15 a.m. on Thursday, the investigation teams returned from all locations, concluding the nearly 24-hour operation.

Intensive Investigation of Financial Documents

According to sources, the ED has thoroughly examined the financial records and transactions related to Ashok Mittal and his son.

The case is being linked to money laundering, although no official statement has yet been issued by the agency.

This action has sparked a political uproar in Punjab.

Rhetoric intensifies in politics

The raid has sparked a political uproar in the state.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, calling it a political conspiracy, targeted the central government, calling it a “Modi-style” action.

Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu retorted, calling the AAP a “party associated with corruption” and linking it to the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.

Press Conference and LPU’s Journey

Ashok Mittal has announced a press conference today at 2 pm, where he is expected to present his side of the story.

He is the founder of Lovely Professional University, which was granted university status in 2005 and is now one of the country’s leading private universities.

LPU has thousands of students from over 50 countries, and the institution has become a major name in the education and industry sectors.
