ED raids Uttar Pradesh realty group in ₹248 crore money laundering probe

Lucknow: The Enforcement Directorate conducted searches on eight locations in Lucknow and two in Delhi as part of a money-laundering investigation into Rohtas Projects Ltd., an Uttar Pradesh–based realty firm. The probe, under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), targets alleged duping of investors to the tune of ₹248 crore.

The case originates from as many as 87 FIRs filed by home/commercial space buyers since 2021, who claim they were swindled and did not receive their properties. A UP Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) forensic audit pegged the proceeds of crime at ₹248 crore. Authorities are searching for evidence and the promoters’ assets to seize, as they have been absconding for about four years.

Promoters named are Piyush Rastogi, Paresh Rastogi, and Deepak Rastogi. Attempts to reach the promoters or their representatives for comment were unsuccessful.
