Noorpurbedi: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the schools of the state are not only being transformed, but education is also getting a new direction. Under his leadership, the performance of schools has improved a lot and the name of the education department has started shining in the country.
The biggest emphasis of Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains is to make the education sector the best in the country. He is continuously making efforts in this regard. The first thing Education Minister Harjot Bains did was to provide teachers to teach children in schools.
Before the formation of his government, the number of single teacher schools in the state was more than 35,00, but now it has come down to around 600. The Chief Minister’s target is that by March 31 this year, no school will have a single teacher and Punjab will be the first state in the country to achieve this target.
While teachers are being provided to schools and new recruitment is being done for this work, along with this the work of construction of government schools is also going on in full swing.
Bains said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had made a provision of Rs 323 crore for building boundary walls for all schools and out of which Rs 290 crore has been spent. The government has completed the boundary wall work in about 77,00 schools. The length of this boundary wall is 13,00 kilometers.
Apart from the boundary wall, new rooms are also being built for the children. Around 10,000 rooms are under construction. The work of providing Wi-Fi system in all schools is also going on in full swing.
Education Minister Harjot Bains has instructed the concerned officials that all schools should get Wi-Fi facility by March 31, 2024.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has a special attachment with the ideology of Shaheed Bhagat Singh and he considers him as his hero. Therefore, the Chief Minister has decided to build a magnificent School of Eminence at a cost of crores of rupees in Banga town adjacent to the village of Shaheed Bhagat Singh.
Help taken from NIFT for school uniform
The Education Minister said that the help of National Institute of Fashion Technology has been taken to provide smart uniforms to the students. Fashion Technology Institute has designed the uniform for the students of School of Eminence.
Bains said that our government has named Khatkal Kalan School, the native village of the country’s great martyr Sardar Bhagat Singh, after Shaheed Bhagat Singh, which no previous government had thought of during the last 70 years.
