Jalandhar (Punjab) : With the onset of the new academic session 2024-25, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has directed officials of the Education Department to expedite the distribution of books through book banks to schools awaiting supplies so as to ensure uninterrupted education for students.
 
During a meeting held here at the district administrative complex, Dr. Aggarwal, while assessing the Education Department’s performance, stressed the need for officials to personally oversee book distribution for swift disbursal of these books in pending schools.
 
Taking stock of mid-day meals, the DC further emphasized the quality of mid-day meals served in schools. He underscored the importance of providing nutritious meals to students, directing officials to conduct regular inspections to uphold food quality and kitchen hygiene standards.
 
Highlighting the significance of school cleanliness, the Deputy Commissioner urged officials to prioritize maintenance of toilets, drinking water facilities, kitchens, and other areas.
 
Furthermore, Dr. Aggarwal emphasized the need for continuous health check-ups and medical assistance for students, underscoring the Health Department’s role in ensuring child well-being. In parallel, instructions were issued for the effective implementation of the Right to Education Act.
