    Elderly Couple Murdered; Silver Bracelets Looted Nearby

    Jaisalmer, April 18: The bodies of an elderly couple sleeping inside their home have been discovered. The silver anklets from the woman’s feet are missing. It is suspected that the couple was murdered with the motive of robbery.

    The incident occurred in Bhil Basti, located in the Mohangarh area, approximately 65 km from Jaisalmer. On Saturday morning, around 9:00 AM, the couple’s nephew was the first to spot the bodies. The husband’s body was lying in the courtyard, while the wife’s body was found inside a room.

    Upon seeing the bodies, the nephew alerted the villagers

    The deceased have been identified as Lakharam (90), son of Pahladram, and his wife, Reshma (85). The elderly couple had no children. They were living alone in the house. On Saturday morning, Chandaram the son of Lakharam’s sister arrived to visit them. He was left in a state of shock upon seeing the bodies. He immediately called the villagers for help.

    Jewellery Missing; Murder Suspected to be for Robbery

    Mohangarh Station House Officer (SHO) Baburam Delu arrived at the scene along with a police force. Preliminary investigations revealed that the silver anklets from Reshma’s feet were missing. Some footprints were also discovered in the vicinity of the house.

    SP Abhishek Shivhare stated, “The bodies of both individuals were found inside their home. Our team visited the scene and conducted an inspection. Prima facie, no external signs of injury were found anywhere on the bodies. The exact cause of death will be revealed only after the post-mortem examination. Currently, the police are investigating the case from every possible angle.”


    SHO Baburam Delu informed that a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team has been summoned to the scene. The bodies have been transported to Mohangarh, where the post-mortem examinations will be conducted.
