Chandigarh: The Election Commission of India has issued instructions to transfer Jalandhar’s Deputy Commissioner Vishesh Sarangal based on a complaint. In the official letter, it has been mentioned that he should be removed from his current position and transferred to another location, which is not his home district.
Furthermore, it should be ensured that the new posting is outside the district and not in the Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency. The Election Commission has requested a panel of three officers to be appointed as the new Deputy Commissioner of Jalandhar.
Likewise, the Election Commission has also instructed to transfer Ropar Range ADGP Jaskaran Singh and Border Range DIG Narinder Bhargava from their current positions. Both officers are retiring from service in April and June 2024, respectively. The newly appointed officers should not be posted in the same district or Lok Sabha seat. To deploy new officers at both places, the Commission has demanded panels with three names each.
