Ludhiana : A local leader of Shiromani Akali Dal from Ludhiana Vipan Sood Kaka had left the party and joined Bharatiya Janata Party in presence of BJP state president Sunil Jakhar in Chandigarh on Thursday.
Vipan Sood Kaka had earlier come into light around seven months ago in September 2023 when the Income Tax department conducted a raid at his residence.
Prior to this in March 2023, the name of Vipan Sood Kaka emerged as probable candidates to contest Lok Sabha polls from Ludhiana but a few days he backstepped from contesting Lok Sabha elections citing health issues and later SAD’s president Sukhbir Singh Badal announced the name of former MLA Ranjit Singh Dhillon as candidate for Lok Sabha elections.
Vipan Sood Kaka was earlier associated with BJP till 2016 and then he joined Lok Insaaf Party and had unsuccessfully contested elections from Ludhiana Central constituency in 2017 assembly elections. In 2019 he joined SAD and now again switched to BJP.
