Ludhiana : Upkar Singh Ahuja has been once again elected unopposed as the President of the Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) during its Annual General Meeting.
Ahuja continues to hold the position of President of CICU since 2017.
The election took place amidst the presence of esteemed associate members and key committees, including the steering committee, Executive committee, and YBLF committee. Notably, approximately 500 members from Ludhiana’s leading industries graced the occasion with their presence, underlining the significance of this event in the industrial landscape.
The unanimous support from all members present, reflects their confidence and trust in Ahuja’s leadership. In his acceptance speech, Ahuja articulated his vision to bolster the state’s industrial sector, emphasizing his commitment to extending wholehearted support to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). He pledged to establish a Centre of Manufacturing Excellence at the CICU complex, aiming to empower and uplift the MSMEs through comprehensive assistance and resources.
During the meeting, members proposed an extension of the President’s term to 10 years from the current 2-year tenure. This recommendation will be deliberated upon in forthcoming meetings, underscoring the members’ interest in ensuring stable and consistent leadership for the Chamber.
