Punjab By-elections Voting Updates
As of 3 pm, 49.61 percent voter turnout has been recorded. As per the date of the election commission, voter turnout of 65.8% in Gidderbaha, 52.2 percent in Dera Baba Nanak, 40.25 percent in Chabbewal and 40 percent in Barnala has been recorded.
As of 1pm, 50.09% turnout in Gidderbaha, 39.4% in Dera Baba Nanak, 28.1% in Barnala and 27.95 % in Chabbewal have been recorded. As per election commission, 36.46% turnout has been recorded in the state as of 1 pm.
As of 11 am, 35 % in Gidderbaha, 19.4% in Dera Baba Nanak, 16.1% in Barnala and 12.71% voter turnout have been recorded. As per election commission, 20.76 percent of voter turnout has been recorded in the state.
As of 9 am, 13.1% in Gidderbaha, 9.7% in Dera Baba Nanak, 6.9% in Barnala and 4.15% in Chabbewal voter turnout have been recorded. As of Election Commission, 8.53% turn out has been recorded till 9 am.
Voting is being held today for by-elections on 4 assembly seats in Punjab. These seats include Barnala, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal, and Gidderbaha. Voting has started here at 7 am. However, due to the cold, voters are coming out less in the morning. This voting will continue till 6 pm. Security has been strengthened to make voting fair and safe.
Around 7 lakh voters will cast their votes on all four seats in the by-election. 831 polling booths have been set up for this. A total of 45 candidates including all parties and independents are in the fray. For security, 17 paramilitary companies have been deployed in all four constituencies. At the same time, about 6 thousand Punjab Police personnel are also handling the front. Live webcasting is also being done at all the booths.
There are 1 lakh 93 thousand 376 voters on Dera Baba Nanak seat. 241 polling stations have been set up. Out of these, 61 are sensitive. There are a total of 1 lakh 59 thousand 432 voters in Chabbewal (SC). 205 polling stations have been set up, out of which 50 are sensitive.
There are 1 lakh 66 thousand 731 voters in Gidderbaha. There are 173 polling stations here, out of which 96 are sensitive. Whereas there are 1 lakh 77 thousand 426 voters in Barnala. There are 212 polling stations here, out of which 37 are sensitive.
