Chandigarh: Waris Punjab De Chief and elected MP from Khadur Sahib Bhai Amritpal Singh has got the parole for four days from July 5 to July 9. The Punjab government had sent an application to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla to administer the oath to Amritpal Singh, the MP elected from Khadoor Sahib.
On that basis, pro-Khalistan Amritpal Singh has been given 4 days parole from the day after tomorrow i.e. Friday (5 July). During this time Amritpal will take oath as MP. At present he is lodged in Dibrugarh jail in Assam under Nation Security Act (NSA).
After the permission of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Kashmiri leader Sheikh Abdul Rashid alias Engineer Rashid, who is in jail in the 2017 Jammu and Kashmir terror funding case, will take oath the day after tomorrow. In such a situation, speculations are being made that both of them will be sworn in together.
According to the information, both of them will take this oath in the Speaker’s room. They have been given the green signal by the agencies and the government. However, neither Amritpal’s lawyer nor the family has any such information about this.
Amritsar Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ghanshyam Thori said – Amritpal Singh has been granted parole for 4 days or less from July 5 with certain conditions, about which the jail superintendent Dibrugarh has been informed.
