Encounter of man who opened fire at shop in Amritsar; One injured in retaliatory action

A police party of Jandiala Guru police station near village Ramdiwali under Mattewal police station in Amritsar Rural had an encounter with a notorious gangster. In which the news of the gangster being injured in the firing from both sides has been received. According to information received from the scene of the incident, this encounter took place when the police party under the leadership of Mukhtiar Singh SHO Jandiala Guru was chasing a gangster on a motorcycle, who suddenly fell on the bridge of Suya near village Ramdiwali.

Ujjwal was injured during the crossfire and has been admitted to the hospital for treatment. Police have also arrested one of his accomplices, Ravi, while the third accused is still at large.

DIG Border Range Sandeep Goyal stated that a few days ago, three criminals arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire at a provision store in Jandialaguru. Following the incident, police teams from Jandialaguru and Mattewal, under the supervision of SSP Maninder Singh, conducted a technical investigation. During the investigation, Ujjwal Hans’ location was traced near Ram Diwali village on Wednesday night.

When police attempted to surround the accused, he opened fire on them. In retaliatory fire, Ujjwal was injured. A .30-bore pistol was recovered from the scene.

Keshav Shivala’s Hand Behind the Firing

Police investigations revealed that Ujjwal Hans already has seven to eight serious cases registered against him, including extortion and attempted murder. The investigation also revealed that Keshav Shivala was behind the firing in Jandialaguru.

Keshav is close to the jailed notorious gangster Jaggu Bhagwanpuria and plotted the shooting and extortion at his behest. According to police, these accused were carrying out extortion and intimidation activities in the Majha region.
