End Nurturing System of Terror

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, raising his voice vociferously from the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, has given the message to the countries involved in SCO that work has to be done to end the entire system of nurturing terrorism and the funding being given for it. Modi said that stop the financing of terrorism, end their recruitment. Not only this, their thinking and the entire system of safe havens have to be destroyed. Modi said these things in his address at the SCO summit in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. He said that this is not only India’s concern, the concern of terrorism should be accepted at the global level and by speaking in one voice, come forward to eradicate terrorism from its roots. Terrorism was undoubtedly a major issue at this conference. Chinese President Xi Jinping also raised the issue of terrorism and expressed his agreement with Modi. Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif was also present when these discussions were taking place. Upon hearing this, Shahbaz Sharif raised the issue of India’s suspension of the Indus waters and said that water should not be used as a weapon. But how did he forget that India’s stand is that no concessions will be given to Pakistan until it stops nurturing terrorism? Here, countries adopting double standards gather. Indirectly, they nurture terrorism but openly oppose it. Pakistan is also complicit in this rhetoric. India is clear that until this double-faced policy is abandoned, its stance will remain firm, whether it is pursued by Shahbaz Sharif, Putin, or Xi Jinping. Modi also urged that terrorism should not be made a strategic strength; it should be honestly dismantled. This is a very valid call from the Shanghai conference. Photographs show heads of state shaking hands, but the truth is that hearts must also unite. Unless sincere steps are taken to dismantle the mechanisms that foster terrorism, this double-faced policy will continue to perpetuate terrorism, terror, and war-like situations within nations, and no country will be able to truly trust another. The warlike situations currently unfolding around the world cannot be considered normal. To find a solution, we must abandon hypocrisy and develop a collective approach to crushing terrorism.
