Jalandhar: Former director of Enforcement Directorate Niranjan Singh, who exposed the drug racket of Bhola as well as Raja Kandoola and thoroughly investigated the foreign transactions, has said that the notice issued to Bikram Singh Majithia now is not wrong but there is a lot of delay in it.
He said that the Enforcement Directorate should have interrogated Bikram Singh Majithia at the time when Punjab Police had put him in jail in the drugs case. His statement should have been taken during custody by taking permission from the court.
He said that he has got 19 people punished by the court in the drugs case of Raja Kandoola and former DSP Bhola of Punjab Police.
The former ED director said very frankly in an interview with Dainik Savera that attempts were made to stop him by creating various obstacles during the investigation. But he did not stop and remained steadfast on the path of his duty. He said that he had started the investigation in Bhola’s case in 2014 and the investigation of foreign transactions in Kandaula’s drug racket was started in 2017. When Majithia’s name also came up in Bhola’s drug racket, he also prepared an investigation report against Majithia.
But during this time he was promoted and sent to Kolkata.
He was asked to get the case transferred to another Investigating Officer of ED through the court. But even after the court’s order, the ED officials could not transfer the case to any further investigating officer, due to which the ED had to face humiliation in the court. After this, the court had ordered the ED officials that although the case will be investigated by some other officer, but the supervision of this case will be done by Niranjan Singh only. The investigating officer will report to Niranjan Singh about the investigation progress.
The former ED director said that it is surprising that despite the court’s order, the ED did not start the investigation nor did it share any further information about this investigation with them. In the meanwhile he retired.
He said that now suddenly the Enforcement Directorate has remembered the investigation again. He said that he is in favour of the fact that the investigation in this case should be completed and this investigation should reach some conclusion.

The former ED director said that whatever investigation he has done should be re-investigated so that the whole truth can come out. He also said that due to delay in investigation many times many facts get changed. The investigation should be completed soon and within a fixed time.
