The lives of the members of the Income Tax Department (IT) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) team who had come to raid in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday got stuck in danger. The Income Tax Department and ED team which had come to raid the stone crusher in the morning got stuck in the river.
When the central investigation agency officers came to the crusher in Adhvani (Near Jawalamukhi) around 5.30 am, there was very little water in the drain at that time. The Beas river flows on the other side of the drain.
The crusher is in the middle of this river and drain. The officials of the investigation agency were still investigating inside the crusher when the crusher started submerging in water from all sides. Central agency officers stuck in between the drain and Beas river.
After some time when the water level in the river went lower, the central agency officers rescued from the crusher.
According to the information received, on Thursday morning, the Income Tax Department and ED teams have raided the houses and business establishments of three contractors in Naidun. It is being told that all the three contractors do stone crusher work in partnership. The department team is interrogating the contractors.
Many questions are being raised about the raid amidst the by-election in Hamirpur, the home district of the Chief Minister. Was this raid done due to any kind of political pressure or did the investigating agency get any kind of input? This is the second time within a week that the Income Tax Department has conducted raids in the district.
