Mumbai: Aadar Jain, who recently married Alekha Advani in a lavish ceremony, has addressed the controversy surrounding his ‘timepass’ comment during their sangeet ceremony. Many believed he was referring to his previous relationship with Tara Sutaria, but Aadar has now clarified the misunderstanding.

In a recent interview, Aadar dismissed the claims that he said he had been doing ‘timepass’ for four years. He clarified, “You should play the video. I actually said 20 years, not four.” He highlighted how staying silent can often be mistaken for weakness, prompting him to clear the air as the rumours spiralled.

Aadar stressed that such baseless rumours affect not just the individuals involved but also their families. He reiterated that Alekha has been one of his closest friends for years and that the speculations were entirely unfounded. “It’s unfortunate, but there’s no truth to any of it,” he added.

Alekha Advani also addressed the rumours, stating that both she and Aadar had been lifelong friends, making the gossip unnecessary. She revealed that Tara Sutaria was always aware of their deep-rooted friendship, adding, “Even Tara knew that Aadar and I have been friends for so long. This whole story is baseless.”

Aadar further noted that while public scrutiny is part of being in the limelight, he draws the line when it involves his family and wife. He remarked, “Not everything works out, but that doesn’t mean you pass comments about others. My family doesn’t believe in such behaviour.”

For those unaware, during the sangeet, Aadar had expressed his love for Alekha, joking that she had unknowingly made him wait for 20 years. He affectionately said, “I love you, and it was worth the wait.” His heartfelt words were unfortunately misinterpreted, leading to unnecessary speculation.
