Anil Kapoor has officially begun filming for his new action-drama movie “Subedaar,” which is currently underway in Mumbai. In this film, Anil Kapoor plays the lead role of Subedaar Arjun Maurya, and it is directed by Suresh Triveni, known for his previous works “Jalsa” and “Tumhari Sulu.”
On Wednesday, the production team announced that filming has started and revealed Anil’s character look. The cast also includes Radhikka Madan, portraying Anil’s daughter, Shyama, along with a diverse ensemble that features a compelling antagonist.
Set against the backdrop of the Indian heartland, the story centers on Subedaar Arjun Maurya as he navigates the difficulties of civilian life, deals with a strained relationship with his daughter, and faces societal issues. Once a soldier who fought valiantly for his country, Subedaar must now confront internal struggles to safeguard his family and home.
Anil Kapoor began preparation for the project as early as June 2024. “Subedaar” is produced by Vikram Malhotra, Anil Kapoor, and Suresh Triveni, with the screenplay co-written by Suresh Triveni and Prajwal Chandrashekar, and dialogues penned by Suresh Triveni and Saurabh Dwivedi. The film is set to be released on Prime Video.
Before this project, Anil hosted the third season of the streaming reality show “Bigg Boss OTT,” which concluded with Sana Makbul winning the title. Last year, Anil celebrated his 40-year career in cinema, having made his Hindi film debut in the 1983 romance drama “Wo Saat Din,” directed by Sattiraju Lakshminarayana. To mark this milestone, he shared a video clip from the film on Instagram, reflecting on his journey as an actor and entertainer.
