Mumbai, July 15: Anupam Kher, who is currently in the news for Tanvi the Great, has recently criticised Diljit Dosanjh for working with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. Anupam has said that if he were in Diljit’s place, he would never have done this.
“I Don’t Have That Much Greatness,” Says Kher
In a recent interview to NDTV, Anupam Kher while talking about Diljit’s controversy said, ‘This is his right. It is his fundamental right. He has full permission to practice this right, and it should be given to him. I can say from my point of view that I might not do this. One slaps my mother or molests my sister or slaps my father on the road, and the neighbour sings very well.’
‘I say, okay, son, you slapped my father, but you sing very well. You play the tabla very well. Come and play the tabla at my house. I won’t be able to do it. You won’t be able to do it. I don’t have that much greatness.’
Anupam Kher further said, ‘I will definitely not beat him. But I will not give him this right. I am such a person that the rules I use at home, I use the same in my country. I do not have that much greatness that I can see my family members getting beaten up for art. I can see any of my sister’s vermilion being looted. But because you are a very good artist and you are my neighbour, you must come to my house and play the tabla. You must play the harmonium. I cannot do it. And those who can, do it have freedom.’
Ban on Pakistani Artists Post-Pahalgam Attack
Let us tell you that after the Pahalgam terrorist attack, all Pakistani artists have been completely banned in India. Despite this, Diljit Dosanjh has worked with Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in the film Sardar Ji 3.
To avoid controversy, this film has been released overseas instead of India. The makers have argued that the film was made before the Pahalgam attack, and crores of rupees were spent on it. But they do not want to hurt the feelings of Indians, so they are not releasing it in India. On the other hand, in India, there is a demand to ban Diljit by accusing him of treason.
