Mumbai: Police have arrested Bollywood director Sanoj Mishra (45) who offered a film to Monalisa of Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh, whose video went viral during Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. A woman has filed a rape case against Sanoj in Ghaziabad police station.
According to the girl, Sanoj raped her several times in the name of making her a heroine. He also forced her to abort three times while living in a live-in relationship with him in Mumbai.
The incident for which the case has been registered took place on 18 February 2025. According to the victim, Sanoj Mishra took her to a hotel in Nabi Karim. During this time, he had sex with her and then left her. After this, the victim lodged a complaint.
The Delhi High Court rejected Mishra’s bail plea in this case. After this, the police of Nabi Karim police station in Central Delhi arrested Sanoj from Ghaziabad.
The victim said that the director threatened to commit suicide.
The 28-year-old girl said in her complaint that she met the film director in 2020 through social media platforms TikTok and Instagram. At that time she lived in Jhansi. The two kept talking for some time.
The director called on 17 June 2021 and told her that he had reached Jhansi railway station. When she refused to meet him citing social pressure, he threatened to commit suicide. Out of fear, she went to meet him. The next day on 18 June 2021, the accused called again. He called her to the railway station threatening to commit suicide.
The victim says that the accused Sanoj Mishra took her to a resort from Jhansi. Here he raped her after feeding her drugs.
Not only this, he also made videos and photos. He threatened that if she tell it to anyone, he would upload them on social media.
After this, he called her to different places on the pretext of marriage and raped her. Not only this, he also lured her with the promise of getting her work in films. With this hope, she came to Mumbai and started living with the accused. Here also he kept exploiting her. He even beat her up many times.
The victim alleges that Sanoj also forced her to have an abortion thrice. He left her in February 2025. He threatened that if she complained, he would post obscene pictures and videos on social media.
Rizvi had said that Mishra has trapped many girls
Actually, Sanoj Mishra came into the limelight by offering a film to viral girl Monalisa. After this, controversies related to him also started coming to the fore. The producer of his previous film, Wasim Rizvi alias Jitendra Tyagi, had even alleged that Mishra is a drunkard and he has trapped many girls before Monalisa. Now he wants to take advantage of the tribal girl.
