Mumbai, July 10: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a case against 29 celebrities. This includes the names of actors Vijay Deverakonda, Rana Daggubati and Prakash Raj. The allegation in the case is that they promoted illegal betting applications. This action was taken on the basis of an FIR registered by the Cyberabad Police.

According to a private news channel, this action of the ED was taken on the complaint of Fanindra Sharma. He alleged that people of weak economic status were misled by the publicity of the public figure, and they suffered huge losses.

YouTuber Harsha Sai’s name is also included

The celebs also include Nidhi Agarwal, Manchu Lakshmi, Pranitha Subhash, Sreemukhi and YouTubers like Harsha Sai and YouTube channel Local Boi Nani.

According to a report in the Economic Times, two television hosts are also involved in this case. In this case, the authorities suspect that a huge amount of money was laundered through these promotions.

Vijay denies allegations of illegal betting

At the same time, actor Vijay Deverakonda has defended his association with A23. According to the Times of India, he said that it is a skill-based gaming platform, not illegal betting. His team said that rummy has been considered a game of skill by the Supreme Court.

Rana Daggubati said that his contract with the gaming app ended in 2017. Promotions were limited to legally permitted territories only.
Prakash Raj admitted that he promoted Junglee Rummy in 2016. He said, ‘It was legally correct but did not match my morals.’
