Los Angeles: Actress Eva Longoria is stepping up to assist those impacted by the wildfires in Los Angeles. In a heartfelt video shared on Instagram, the 49-year-old actress announced her donation of $50,000 to the organization This Is About Humanity, aimed at helping frontline workers and families affected by the fires, according to People magazine.
“It’s been a crazy week,” Longoria expressed, noting the devastation faced by many, including friends who have lost precious belongings. She shared that her own family had to evacuate their home due to warnings and alarms, and she is currently hosting friends who were also displaced.
In her efforts to help, Longoria mentioned that she has donated clothes and emptied her pantry for those in need. She plans to support This Is About Humanity, which will match her donation of $50,000 for essential workers and families affected by the fires.
“The funds will aid families who are working hard to provide us with food,” she explained, highlighting the bravery of farm workers who continue their jobs under dangerous conditions.
Concluding her video, Longoria offered words of encouragement to Los Angeles residents, urging them to “stay strong” and emphasizing the importance of focusing on immediate support rather than analyzing the situation. She expressed gratitude to everyone contributing to relief efforts.
