Film city- Convenient shooting spot for film makers

Mumbai: Film City was established in 1977 by the Maharashtra government. For its establishment, an expert committee was formed in 1970.

Members included in the committee were departed filmmaker B.R. Chopra, actor Dilip Kumar, and director V. Shantaram. ‘Dadasaheb Phalke Chitranagri’ is situated in Goregaon East, Mumbai, which is commonly known as a film city.

It expands to 520 acres, where sets of 1000 films can be prepared together. An artificial temple, court, jail, helipad, and village are situated here. The shooting of all super-hit films and shows is done here.

Film City is more than 50 years old, and it is still the first choice of every film maker, despite the fact that there are many more places to shoot. It is because this place is the most convenient of all.

From a security point of view, this place is the best, and this is the reason that actor Salman Khan is shooting most of his next upcoming film ‘Sikandar’ at this place.

The set of the film covers 3 acres of the area of the field. In the past few days, Salman Khan has been getting threats to kill, followed by firing at his home.Location manager Ranveer Singh said that the set for Salman Khan’s upcoming film Sikandar is made inside the film city, which expands to 3 acres of land.

Due to threats to his life, Salman is not shooting at real locations, and his maximum shooting will be in film city. Some interesting facts about the film city are:

1. At least 55 security guards are always on duty inside Film City.
2. It consists of two jungles where snakes and leopards are sometimes spotted. For security against these animals, safety precautions are always followed on a priority basis.
3. Shooting in these areas has been reduced to a large extent, where wild animals are expected to maintain their accommodation.
4. No one can buy land inside the film city. One can hold a land on rent for only 2 years. If one wants to hold land for more than 2 years, he has to prepare all his agreements from the beginning.
5. Film City consists of natural mountains, jungle, waterfalls, and lakes. Sets are made around it.
6. It is always facilitated by ambulances, so in case anybody faces a medical issue, treatment can be started on the spot.
   
   Inside the film city, there is a ‘Bollywood Park’ that is like a tourist place. It is known for its beautiful combination of art and literature. Here information about film industry is provided through plays and dramas. Sets for famous TV shows and movies are also installed here.
