Mumbai: Kareena Kapoor has publicly supported a transformative menstrual health initiative in Gujarat schools through her social media platforms. Praising the state’s efforts to promote safe and inclusive environments where students can learn about menstruation, she emphasized the importance of awareness over stigma as a vital step toward creating a world-friendly to periods. On Wednesday, the actress shared on Instagram that this initiative, developed by the Gujarat government with UNICEF India’s support, is revolutionizing how young students—both girls and boys—are educated about periods.

She explained that the specially created spaces, called Menstrual Corners, provide engaging learning tools such as card games, role-play aprons, interactive models, and easy-to-understand booklets, making menstrual health education accessible and free of taboos.

Posting a couple of photos featuring girls, Kareena noted, “Periods aren’t a problem… lack of awareness is. That’s why Gujarat’s schools now have Menstrual Corners — safe, welcoming spaces where students learn about periods through simple, engaging tools. This impactful initiative, supported by @UNICEFindia, is breaking taboos and normalizing discussions around menstruation.”

She added, “With over 103,000 girls and 88,000 boys already reached, it’s not just about raising awareness… it’s about building confidence, dignity, and helping girls stay in school and pursue their dreams. Let’s continue supporting open conversations and safe environments for every student. #PeriodFriendlyWorld #MHDay2025 #MenstruationMatters.”

In her recent work, the 44-year-old actress appeared in Rohit Shetty’s action-packed film ‘Singham Again,’ sharing the screen with a star-studded cast that included Ajay Devgn, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, and Jackie Shroff.

Looking ahead, Kareena is reported to be collaborating with director Meghna Gulzar on a new project tentatively titled ‘Daayra,’ which is said to star popular Malayalam actor Prithviraj Sukumaran in a key role. While excitement surrounds the project, an official announcement has yet to be made.
