Mumbai, July 5: Naseeruddin Shah faced a lot of criticism after he posted in support of Diljit Dosanjh amid the ongoing controversy over ‘Sardarji 3’. Later, the post was not visible on his social media, after which it was speculated that he had deleted the post due to the backlash.
Now the actor has revealed the truth. In an article written for the Indian Express, he said that he did not delete the post, but it was removed by Facebook. Also, he said that the backlash on the post does not affect him.
He wrote, ‘If this is taken as the reason for my Facebook post (which I haven’t deleted, but have removed) in support of Diljit Dosanjh, then so be it. But the truth is that I don’t need to prove anything. I said what I had to say, and I stand by it. Nor am I disappointed by the lack of support from the film industry. I didn’t expect any – either they all have a lot to lose or they disagree.’
The actor shared a message for his trolls and wrote, ‘And for the trolls, especially the person who told me ‘not Pakistan but the graveyard now’. I can only quote Jigar Moradabadi – ‘Mujhe de na ghaaj mein dhamkiyan, gire lakh baar ye bijliyan, meri sultanate yahi aashiyaan, meri malkiyat yahi chaar par.’
