Mumbai: South Indian actress Nayanthara has requested her fans to stop addressing her as ‘Lady Superstar’, a title bestowed upon her out of admiration. The actress shared a heartfelt message on X (formerly Twitter), asking to be referred to simply by her name.

In the note, Nayanthara expressed gratitude for the unwavering love and support she has received throughout her career. She acknowledged the affection behind the title but explained that such labels could create an image that distances actors from their craft and the bond they share with audiences.

“Titles and accolades are priceless, but they can sometimes create an image that separates us from our work, our craft, and the unconditional bond we share with you,” she wrote.

Nayanthara emphasised that her name represents not only her identity as an actress but also as an individual. She reassured fans of her continued dedication to entertaining them and celebrating cinema together.

On the work front, Nayanthara is set to star in Mahesh Narayanan’s upcoming Malayalam film MMMN, alongside Mohanlal and Mammootty. She will also feature in Rakkayie, directed by Senthil Nallasamy and Geetu Mohandas ‘s  Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups, co-starring Yash, Huma Qureshi and Kiara Advani.
